Jungjingong Opens 'Jeonju Smart Factory Learning Center'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 14th that it will open the 'Jeonju Smart Factory Learning Center.'
On the afternoon of the same day, the Smart Factory Learning Center will be established at the Jeonbuk Jeonju CAMTIC Comprehensive Technology Institute, and an opening ceremony is scheduled. The Jeonju Smart Factory Learning Center will operate in an area of approximately 648㎡, equipped with three practical lecture rooms, a data center, and offices.
The Smart Factory Learning Center is a space where a learning production line applying 4th Industrial Revolution technologies is built, allowing the manufacturing of products. Trainees can experience the composition and operation of smart factories.
Since January last year, the Small and Medium Business Corporation has been promoting the establishment of the learning center with Jeonbuk Province and Jeonju City by investing about 4 billion KRW in the budget. The learning center is equipped with a main manufacturing line for digital instrument panels of electric vehicles. It is expected to create various synergistic effects in connection with the electric and autonomous vehicle cluster project in the Gunsan Saemangeum area.
Furthermore, as the training of smart manufacturing specialists intensifies, it is expected to help improve the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the Jeonbuk region and create jobs.
In line with government policies, the Small and Medium Business Corporation aims to train 60,000 specialists in the smart manufacturing field by 2022. Starting from Ansan, Gyeonggi in 2017, it plans to establish Smart Factory Learning Centers in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, and Changwon, Gyeongnam this year, followed by Daegu and Cheonan, Chungnam in the future.
