Woori Financial Group Donates 3 Billion KRW to Community Chest of Korea for Neighbor Assistance Fundraising

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Woori Financial Group announced on the 14th that it donated 3 billion KRW in aid funds to the Community Chest of Korea with the aim of creating a happy society through sharing.
The donation ceremony was held the day before at the Community Chest of Korea in Jung-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by Sohn Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, and Ye Jeong-seok, Chairman of the Community Chest of Korea, among others.
Woori Financial has increased its donations to the Community Chest of Korea from 1 billion KRW in 2017, 2 billion KRW in 2018, to 3 billion KRW last year.
Chairman Sohn said, "I hope that sharing will become a spark of hope for neighbors left out in the cold winter," adding, "We will continue to participate in sharing activities so that warm interest and care for those in need spread throughout our society."
Woori Financial conducted the "Better Together with Woori" campaign, a large-scale social contribution activity, last year during the first half (January to March) and the second half (October to November) across all domestic branches of the group including Woori Bank, as well as 474 networks in 26 countries globally.
Through the campaign, Woori Financial engaged in activities such as delivering air purifiers to local children's centers, donating blood donation certificates through blood donation campaigns, and delivering Woori Hope Boxes for the holidays.

In December last year, to celebrate Christmas, Woori Financial launched the "Woori Hope Santa" campaign, creating and delivering Christmas gifts to 1,000 children from underprivileged groups. Woori Financial plans to continue various forms of social contribution activities in the future.
