eBay Korea Hosts '2020 New Year Gift' Event Using 'SmilePay'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] eBay Korea introduced on the 13th a 'Cathec (SmileCash + Finance Tech)' method using the simple payment service 'SmilePay.'
SmilePay is a simple payment service launched by eBay Korea in 2014, available on Gmarket, Auction, and G9. It is also expanding its usage to online and offline affiliated stores such as marts, dining, fashion, and travel.
First, at W Concept, Kolon Mall, H Fashion Mall, Today's House, AP Mall, and The Handsome.com, when making a first payment with SmilePay ranging from a minimum of 30,000 KRW to over 300,000 KRW, up to 30,000 KRW SmileCash is additionally credited. When charging CultureCash with SmileCash, 3% SmileCash is automatically credited (up to 15,000 KRW per month), and when paying with ZeroPay, 2% SmileCash is automatically credited (up to 1,000 KRW per transaction).
The accumulated SmileCash can be used like cash at eBay Korea's Gmarket, Auction, G9, and SmilePay affiliated stores.
During January, the ‘2020 How to Live Very Well’ event with SmilePay is also being held. If payments are completed with SmilePay at three affiliated stores among SmilePay event partners such as Market Kurly, Yogiyo, Hyundai Department Store Duty Free, and Kyobo Hottracks, participation is automatically completed, and 2,020 KRW SmileCash is credited.
Various category benefits such as travel, culture, and shopping are also prepared. When paying with SmilePay at Travel Doctor, CJ Mall, AK Mall, Shilla Internet Duty Free, Aladin, CGV, Yanolja, OPIC, and others, various discount benefits are provided. At popular Soho malls such as Benito, Love Paris, and Sovo Shoes, an additional 5,000 KRW is credited for the first payment of 50,000 KRW or more with SmilePay.
