On the 13th, Jinju City announced, "The new 6.08 km bypass national road project for Route 33 between Jeongchon, Jinju and Chukdong, Sacheon, which will be fully funded by approximately 150 billion KRW of national funds, has been selected as a target for the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's comprehensive preliminary feasibility study."
Expected to materialize as early as next year, this project will not only alleviate severe traffic congestion at Gaeyang Five-way Intersection during Jinju-Sacheon commuting hours near the entrance of Gyeongsang National University and in front of Jeongchon Industrial Complex, but also enable a swift response to changing conditions such as the development of Jeongchon Industrial Complex, Root Industrial Complex, and Gyeongnam Aviation National Industrial Complex.

Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il stated, "As a result of long-standing efforts, the project has been included in the government's preliminary feasibility study," and added, "We will do our best until it is reflected in the government's final plan to make Jinju-Sacheon a convenient living area."
