Seven Eleven Hosts 'Show Me the Dosirak' Contest for Culinary High School Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Seven Eleven announced on the 13th that it will hold the 'Show Me the Dosirak Competition' for high school students majoring in culinary arts nationwide.
This competition was planned to support the dreams of high school culinary arts students who will lead the future of Korea's food service industry and to discover lunchbox menu ideas for teenagers, who have recently emerged as the core customer base for convenience store dosirak.
The theme of the competition is 'Convenience Store Dosirak for Teenagers,' and participants are required to submit a proposal with ideas for convenience store dosirak targeting their tastes and preferences. Applications will be accepted for 19 days until the 31st, and the form can be downloaded from the Seven Eleven website. Any high school student majoring in culinary arts nationwide can participate, and up to one accompanying person is allowed.
Seven Eleven plans to focus primarily on commercial viability and launch potential when judging the entries, as they intend to commercialize the winning works. The proposals will be comprehensively evaluated based on originality of ideas, trend analysis, popularity, and nutritional content. Among the submitted recipes, Seven Eleven will select 10 teams to advance to the final competition next month.
Prizes for the competition winners include the Grand Prize (1 team, 1,000,000 KRW), Excellence Award (1 team, 500,000 KRW), and Merit Award (2 teams, 300,000 KRW each). In particular, the Grand Prize winner will receive a special benefit of having their winning recipe launched as a dosirak nationwide at Seven Eleven stores, along with the prize money.
