[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Creator Doti revealed the reason why he started his YouTube channel.
On the 10th episode of MBC FM4U's 'Good Morning FM with Jang Sung-kyu,' creator Doti appeared as a guest and hosted the
During the broadcast, Doti said, "I was very sensitive. When I watched TV in the military barracks, the slogan of another media outlet, 'We create culture,' was so cool. I thought I wanted to become a broadcasting station PD after discharge," adding, "I started YouTube because I thought if I gathered a thousand subscribers, I could write a line about it on my resume."
He continued, "I started in October 2013, but honestly, I began from the bottom. Since I had no foundation, for quite a long time, I had no subscribers and very few views. After six months, it reached tens of thousands, but in the beginning, it was frustrating," he confessed.
In response to DJ Jang Sung-kyu's question, "Your videos have been scarce lately. Many friends are curious and waiting. What happened?" Doti admitted, "I wanted to escape from a world where I was solely responsible for everything."
He further explained, "Some of you may have seen it in the media, but I went through a very difficult mental period early last year. Doti feels like a character in a game. There was a gap with the human Na Hee-seon, which was tough. It's hard to explain, but I am resting with an apologetic heart and asking for your understanding."
Finally, he added, "Broadcasting work gives me new excitement. It's so enjoyable, and working feels alive. Doing it at a broadcasting station and doing it alone are very different. I am learning a lot."
