Jangseong-gun to Conduct Special Environmental Pollution Monitoring Activities from 14th to 31st
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it will conduct special monitoring activities to prevent environmental pollution at 10 locations, including water sources and rivers around industrial complexes, from the 14th to the 31st.
This special monitoring activity will be carried out with a phased response system.
In the first phase, cooperation letters will be sent to key monitoring target workplaces that discharge environmental pollutants to enable them to conduct voluntary inspections, while special crackdowns will be carried out mainly on environmentally vulnerable businesses.
During the holiday period in the second phase, an environmental pollution reporting situation room will be established and operated to respond quickly to environmental pollution accidents, and patrols will be strengthened in accident-prone areas and heavily polluted rivers.
In the third phase, which marks the end of the holiday, technical support will be provided to restart environmental facilities that were shut down during the holiday.
A county official said, “Any violations detected during the special crackdown period will be strictly dealt with according to environmental laws,” and added, “Please pay special attention to pre-inspecting the safety of facilities discharging environmental pollutants to prevent environmental pollution accidents.”
