Dongdaemun-gu Advances Urban Regeneration with 59.8 Billion Won in External Funding
Secured Over 59.8 Billion KRW in External Funding Last Year from Central Government Ministries and Seoul City Public Projects... Promoting Housing Environment Improvement, Win-Win Culture Realization, and Community Revitalization
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) achieved the significant accomplishment of securing a large-scale external fund amounting to 59.82 billion KRW in 2019 from central government ministries, Seoul city public contests, special grants, special local taxes, and evaluations by private organizations.
Dongdaemun-gu's continuous efforts, including holding training sessions and comprehensive budget review meetings to secure external funds and enhance employees' work capabilities, have led to this success.
The district plans to invest the secured funds in urban regeneration New Deal projects around Gamcho Village in Jeogi-dong, as well as policies related to jobs, welfare, and safety, actively promoting improvements in residential environments, realization of a culture of coexistence, and revitalization of the community.
