Busan Main Customs Office Selects 'Jeong Min-Young' as First Customs Officer of the Year
Contribution to Supporting Export Promotion of Local Small and Medium Enterprises
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Jung Min-young, Customs Administration Officer, has been selected as the first Customs Officer of the Year at Busan Regional Customs Office.
Busan Regional Customs Office announced on the 8th that Jung Min-young was selected and awarded as the ‘Busan Customs Officer of January 2020.’
Officer Jung was recognized for supporting the export promotion of local small and medium-sized enterprises by producing customized trade statistics information on industrial trends and specialized items in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions, such as Busan fish cake, Gijang seaweed, ships, and seafood trends, distributing press releases, and providing information to be used in establishing export support strategies for local government export companies.

Choi Young-min, Customs Administration Officer, selected as a ‘General Field’ meritorious person, contributed to improving poor workspaces and outdated facilities by conducting on-site inspections of remote departments and employee convenience facilities in vulnerable work areas, helping employees perform their duties efficiently and enhancing job satisfaction.
Kim Eun-young, Customs Administration Officer in the ‘Audit Field,’ contributed to securing an additional tax revenue of 5.6 billion KRW without objections from taxpayers or major law firms by precisely analyzing import prices of goods traded between related parties suspected of underreporting, and obtaining internal transaction data to calculate accurate taxable prices.
Jeon Yong-hee, Customs Administration Officer in the ‘Investigation Field,’ detected two companies illegally importing medical and food-use latex gloves worth approximately 18.8 billion KRW without reporting to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety through information analysis of items used in cooking broadcasts.
Kim Eun-jung, Customs Administration Officer in the ‘Surveillance Field,’ supported the successful hosting of the ‘Korea-ASEAN Special Summit’ by actively monitoring the port, detecting smuggling of 23,000 liters of marine duty-free oil (MF-30) and 60 rounds of blank cartridges found in a disembarking passenger’s bag.
