[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yang Hee-jung] The Institute of Social Sciences at Pusan National University (Director Jaesik Lee, Professor of Psychology) announced on the 8th that it will hold an international academic conference on the theme of "Changes & Challenges in Social Sciences" from 2 p.m. on the 9th at the Induk Hall main conference room and small conference room of Pusan National University.
Former Minister of Science and ICT Young-min Yoo is scheduled to give a keynote lecture on social changes brought about by ICT innovation under the theme "The New World Opened by 5G."
Additionally, under the moderation of Professor Deokhyun Jang from the Department of Library and Information Science at Pusan National University, thematic presentations will be given by Professor Changdae Ham from the University of Illinois, Professor Xingguang Yu from Tsinghua University in China, Professor Jaesik Lee from the Department of Psychology at Pusan National University, and Dr. Mijeong Joo from the Korea Road Traffic Authority. An in-depth discussion on various aspects of the impact of digital information technology on human society and psychology will also take place.

In the session chaired by Professor Heejae Kim from the Department of Sociology at Pusan National University, participants include Professor Akira Uchida, Deputy Director of the Regional Strategy Research Institute at Kitakyushu City University in Japan, Professor Youngjin Yoo from Kitakyushu City University, Professor Eunhye Kim from the Department of Sociology at Pusan National University, and Professor Seungwoo Oh from Ritsumeikan University in Japan. The session will explore Japanese cases regarding changes in local communities, the role of universities, and the establishment of community care systems, followed by a discussion on the role of universities in the development of the Busan region.
