Preliminary Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon Begins Livelihood Tour 'Into the Citizens'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party of Korea preliminary candidate for the National Assembly representing Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, has started a livelihood tour to strengthen contact with citizens, beginning with visits to Naju Moksago-eul Market and the Naju original downtown shopping district.
On the 7th, preliminary candidate Shin Jeong-hoon stated, "The original downtown, which has been the center of Naju and Honam for the past thousand years, is experiencing difficulties due to rapid depopulation caused by the development of the Innovation City," and added, "I will attract large-scale government-funded projects to complete the historic city and revitalize the original downtown."
He continued, "To accelerate the revitalization of the original downtown and the restoration of cultural assets, which residents proposed during President Moon Jae-in's visit to Naju last July, I will promptly enact the 'Special Act on the Maintenance of Historical and Cultural Areas' and establish a comprehensive development plan for the restoration and maintenance of Naju historic sites to secure large-scale national budgets," promising.
He emphasized, "I will take the lead in revitalizing the original downtown commercial district and protecting citizens' property rights by closely consulting with the Cultural Heritage Administration to reorganize unreasonable urban planning that hinders the development of the original downtown commercial district and easing various regulations."

He also announced a policy to contribute to the revitalization of the commercial district by strengthening the priority purchasing system of public institutions relocated to the Innovation City, such as implementing a mandatory closure system for public enterprise cafeterias, to promote coexistence between the original downtown and the Innovation City.
