◆Combination of advanced hardware and AI technology... Personalized care = Samsung Electronics emphasized personalized care combining advanced hardware and artificial intelligence technology and unveiled the intelligent companion robot 'Ballie.'
President Kim said, "Ballie, which acts as a companion in personal life, is a good example representing Samsung Electronics' robot research direction pursuing human-centered innovation." It is ball-shaped, moves freely, and recognizes and follows the user.
According to user commands, it can monitor various parts of the home and link with major smart devices such as smartphones and TVs to perform diverse home care tasks. Equipped with 'On-Device AI' functionality, it enhances security and privacy protection, enabling roles such as a security robot or fitness assistant.
Sebastian Seung, Vice President of Samsung Research, emphasized the importance of AI leadership and industry partnerships in advancing personalized care. He introduced the cardiac rehabilitation program 'HeartWise,' developed in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente in the U.S.
HeartWise uses mobile devices to continuously monitor the heart condition of patients with chronic heart disease. When abnormal signs occur, it connects patients to timely medical care by professional medical staff, reducing the rate of hospital readmission.
