Gwangju Seo-gu, Senior Dementia Prevention Program Draws Attention
Seedling Distribution and Nostalgic Photo Exhibition Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) has taken active steps to prevent dementia among the elderly.
On the 7th, Seo-gu recently distributed seedlings that the elderly can grow at home during the winter season.
This initiative was promoted as part of the dementia prevention program at the Seo-gu Dementia Safety Center to help the elderly prevent dementia by growing seedlings themselves during the winter when activities are limited.
Additionally, Seo-gu plans to hold a photo exhibition by collecting photos documenting the process of growing the seedlings or nostalgic photos from the "Jangnok" (wardrobe) memories.
The seedlings carefully nurtured by the elderly and the nostalgic photos will be exhibited at the "Jangnok Memories Photo Exhibition with Spring Flowers," held in March at Omae Bulmang Healing Park within Pungam Sports Park.
