"Is Doing This Fun?" Idaji Angered by Sexual Harassment Messages
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Lee Daji, known as a popular Korean history instructor, expressed anger over sexually harassing messages she received from someone presumed to be a student.
On the 1st, Lee posted a screenshot of a direct message sent by a person presumed to be a student on her Instagram.
The photo contained sexually harassing messages such as "I want to passionately and intensely do it with Teacher Daji. Studying, that is. I want to satisfy Teacher Daji. With a perfect score report card." In response, Lee expressed discomfort, saying, "Is it fun to keep doing this? If we meet in person, you’ll have a hole in your forehead, man."
Netizens also expressed outrage over the direct messages Lee received. Comments included, "Imagining that they thought this was sophisticated humor gives me chills," and "Disgusting. This is clear sexual harassment," with many calling for strict punishment.
This is not the first time Lee Daji has faced sexual harassment. From the beginning of her lectures, she was troubled by sexually harassing comments evaluating her appearance and body. In March of last year, she mentioned the harassment and stated she was "preparing to file a lawsuit."
