The award ceremony was held at the 'KB Financial Korea Figure Skating Championship 2020 (the 74th National Men’s and Women’s Figure Skating Comprehensive Championship)' which concluded on the 5th at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Rink.
Since 2015, KB Financial Group has been providing scholarships with the purpose of 'developing figure skating through supporting youth figure skating prospects.' Last year, 10 promising male and female skaters (2 males, 8 females) received scholarships.
The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the Korea Skating Union based on their performances in major competitions such as the '2019 KB Financial National Men’s and Women’s Figure Skating President’s Cup Ranking Competition' and the recently held 'KB Financial Korea Figure Skating Championship 2020.'
A KB Financial Group official stated, "KB Financial Group has continuously shown interest and affection for winter sports, including figure skating," adding, "Like figure skating queen Kim Yuna, who grew up with KB Financial, we hope this scholarship will help promising figure skaters grow into international athletes."
