Fire at Hotel in Jongno, Seoul... Guests Evacuate Amid Chaos
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] On the morning of the 5th, a fire broke out at a hotel located in Nakwon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, causing about 40 guests to evacuate.
According to the Jongno Fire Station, the fire occurred around 6:46 a.m. in the bathroom of a 4th-floor guest room in the hotel, which has 7 floors above ground and 1 basement level, and was completely extinguished by 7:14 a.m., about 30 minutes later.
Due to the fire, 42 people including guests inside the building were either rescued by firefighters who arrived on the scene or evacuated on their own. Two people who inhaled smoke were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
