View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] On Monday, the 6th, which is the solar term Sohan (小寒), the weather will gradually become cloudy nationwide, with rain starting in Jeolla Province in the morning.
In the afternoon, the areas experiencing rain are expected to expand to most parts of the country.
Expected precipitation amounts are 10-30mm in Chungnam, Jeolla, Gyeongnam, and Jeju, 5-10mm in Chungbuk and Gyeongbuk, and less than 5mm in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon. Around 1cm of snow is expected in the mountainous areas of Gangwon.
In regions where rain or snow falls, roads may freeze after snow accumulates and melts, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "Heavy rain is expected nationwide until the 8th," and added, "From the night of the 7th, cold air will move southward from the north, causing significant snowfall mainly in the mountainous areas of Gangwon. Please be careful to avoid any damage."
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -5 and 7 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 2 and 12 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels will be 'bad' in southern Gyeonggi, Sejong, and Chungbuk, while other regions will experience 'good' to 'moderate' levels.
Strong winds will blow from the afternoon along the west coast, south coast, and Jeju Island. Strong winds and high waves are also expected in the offshore waters of the West Sea, so vessels engaged in navigation or fishing should exercise caution.
Sea waves will be 0.5 to 1.0 meters high in the nearshore West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the nearshore South and East Seas. Offshore wave heights are forecasted to be 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West and South Seas, and 1.0 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea.
