Gwanak-gu Achieves Record High in External Agency Evaluations... Winner in 69 Categories
2019 Awards in 69 Fields ... 30% Increase Compared to Previous Year ... Recognized for Excellent Achievements in Overall District Administration Including Local Economy Revitalization, Welfare, Safety, and Finance
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it swept awards in a total of 69 categories in various external evaluations hosted by central government ministries and private organizations, as well as city-district joint cooperation projects in 2019.
To actively promote the 7th term election pledges and residents' long-standing projects, the district established an External Policy Team last August and took proactive measures such as recruiting related experts.
As a result, following 53 awards in 2018, it achieved awards in 69 categories in 2019, proving itself as an excellent autonomous district externally. It secured a total financial incentive of 2.168 billion KRW, including 40 categories and 1.882 billion KRW in Seoul city joint cooperation and performance projects evaluation, 15 categories and 281 million KRW in central government ministry evaluations, and 14 cases and 5.7 million KRW in private evaluations.
In evaluations hosted by central government ministries, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety awarded Gwanak-gu with ▲2019 Government Innovation Evaluation Excellent Institution ▲2019 Government Joint Evaluation ‘Excellent District’ ▲2019 Safety Campaign Best Practice Contest ‘Grand Prize’ ▲Local Finance Rapid Execution ‘Excellent District’ for three consecutive times ▲2019 Comprehensive Information Disclosure Evaluation ‘Top Excellence’ ▲2019 Excellent Program Contest ‘Top Excellence’.
Additionally, from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, it received ▲2019 Urban Regeneration Industry Expo ‘Grand Prize’.
In the field of joint cooperation projects promoted together by Seoul City and autonomous districts, it achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as the award-winning district for all 15 projects for three consecutive years.
In private evaluations, notably from the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, it received ▲Election Pledge Implementation Plan Evaluation ‘SA (Highest) Grade’ ▲2019 Manifesto Best Practice Contest ‘Top Excellence Award’, recognizing the efforts made to fulfill the 7th term election pledges and promises to residents.
Mayor Park Jun-hee received the ‘Global Hope Pen Award’, ‘Local Autonomy Development Award’, and ‘Proud Korean Person Award’ this year, and on the 19th was selected as the ‘2019 Local Autonomy CEO of the Year’ by the Korea Public Autonomy Research Institute through voting by key national public officials, acknowledging his outstanding leadership.
