He may not be the Avengers but Seol Kyung-gu is again saving lives in his new film project opening this winter.

Korea's distribution firm CJ Entertainment said in a press release Tuesday that Seol and actress Son Ye-jin's "Tower" is set to open in local theaters in December. Though it has yet to set the final opening date, the film already began stirring up some hype last year with the casting news of the "Haeundae" actor.

His 2009 blockbuster film shot in Haeundae, Busan, is so far the fifth highest grossing film at local box office and has raked in 21.1 billion Korean Won [$19.1 million], according to Korea Box office Information System [KOBIS] data.

With director Kim Ji-hoon of "Sector 7" wielding the megaphone, "Tower" centers around a 108-floor building named Tower Sky. As the building gets on fire, a firefighter [played by Seol] jumps into the scene to rescue lives with the motto "Giving up what's here is giving up everything."Meanwhile, Son plays a foodcourt manager that does not lose hope in such a desperate situation.

Also on board for the rescue pic is actor Kim Sang-kyung, whose most recent works include "Hahaha" (2010) and "White Christmas" (2011).
