2AM Changmin to Host Japanese TV Show

K-pop ballad quintet 2AM member Changmin will use his talent to host a Japanese TV show alone.

The group's official Japanese website showed Monday that Changmin will begin hosting his first self-titled TV show “I am Changmin,” on Tokyo’s MXTV.The variety show, which will hit the airwaves on October 2 at midnight, depicts Changmin growing up as a multi-talented idol with the help of a Japanese TV personality's special coaching.

The website showed that Japanese comedian Yu Hamaguchi, the first guest coach of the show, made his appearance at the idols’ special fan meeting session held at Tokyo’s Bellesalle Shibuya Garden last Saturday.

The event was held to celebrate the release of their latest Japanese single, “For You,” dropped on September 12, which has been ranking at No. 4 on Oricon’s daily singles chart for two straight days.Composed of Jo Kwon, Changmin, Seulong and Jinwoon, 2AM broke into the music scene with the debut single "This Song" in 2008, under the management of top Korean agency JYP Entertainment.

The four-member group will kick off their second Japanese tour, dubbed “For You,” at Osaka’s International Conference Hall on October 23 and continue to hold five more shows in Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Tokyo up untill November 2.
