“Gaksital” reclaims No. 1 on ratings chart

While the whole nation is caught in the fever of the ongoing 2012 London Olympics, major broadcaster KBS has kept its plan to air the Wednesday and Thursday primetime TV series.

KBS’ “Gaksital” was the most-watched drama on the Wednesday and Thursday primetime ratings chart this week, after earning 16.9 percent of total viewers on its 18th episode aired on Wednesday, according to the compiled data by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics).Starring actor Joo Won and actress Jin Se-yeon, the action drama focuses on a Korean hero that fights against Japanese imperialistic conquerors.

Meanwhile, the AGB Nielson Media Research poll showed that "Gaksital" perched atop the chart with 18 percent rating during the same time frame.

This is the highest viewership ratings record that the show had since kicking off the run on May 30.SBS and MBC were each scheduled to air “Ghost” and the first episode of “Arangsattojeon” [in Romanized Korean] but the two broadcasters delayed the episodes due to their live broadcast of the 2012 London Olympics.

"Arangsaettojeon," starring actor Lee Joon-gi and actress Shin Mina, is a fantasy drama inspired by the traditional legend from the Miryang area in South Korea.

The fantasy romance comically tells the story of a female ghost named Arang (played by Shin) who tries to find out the truth behind her mysterious death.

While MBC's "Arangsattojeon" has been rescheduled to air on August 15, SBS has not confirmed about the next air date of "Ghost."
