"I thought the peak point of Jae-kwang's emotional range was when he received a confession from his mother. There was this scene where Jae-kwang is alone and sitting on the spot where his brother died and Yoon-hye just stares at him. But the story was later modified. The changed version of the story centered around Jae-kwang and his mother, played by veteran actress Kim Mi-kyung, while the other emotions were evenly spread out. I talked with the director about how sad Jae-kwang should be in the scene where he breaks up with Yoon-hye and we came to an agreement that I should act calm in that situation. Because that was the start of their relationship for the two people. And without knowing, I kept making mistakes because I kept breaking into tears. I didn't want to let her go. I struggled with my emotions for that scene and I felt that the director's judgment was right after seeing the show. My eyes were filled with tears but my lips were smiling. Even the background music was a cheerful song. That all made me realize later that I shouldn't have cried in the scene."
