SHINee Minho to play genius hacker in new SBS sitcom

Korean idol Minho of boy band SHINee will take on his second acting role in an upcoming SBS sitcom, according to a press release from the show's broadcaster SBS on Friday.

SBS announced that Minho will take on the character of a genius hacker named Minhyuk in the sitcom "Salamander Guru and Gang" (translated title) set to air every Friday nights starting January 27. "Salamander," a ten-part series helmed by producer Park Seung-min, will tell the story of swindlers that capture a fortune teller in order to take over her job only to find out that they have a knack for telling people's fortune.

The show also features an all-star cast of actors Oh Dal-su, Im Won-hee and Lee Byeong-jun and actress Ryu Hyun-kyung.

Minho, trained under major talenthouse SM Entertainment, made his debut as the rapper of boy band SHINee in 2008.
