Korean actress Han Hyo-joo has joined actor Lee Byung-hun in an upcoming historical film, according to her agency BH Entertainment.

On Tuesday, BH announced that Han will take on the role of the queen in the movie "I am the King of Joseon" (translated title) set to open in theaters during the second half of next year. "King," similar to children's fairytale "The Prince and the Pauper," will tell the story of a man of low class, who had covered for King Gwanghaegun, the 15th ruler of Korea's Joseon Dynasty, actually opening his eyes to the role of king.

Lee will play the double role of the king and the man of low case in the film which will be helmed by director Chu Chang-min.

Han rose to stardom throughout Korea and Asia after starring as the heroine in "Brilliant Legacy" in 2009 and in the historical TV series "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" the following year. She has also visited several countries in the Asia region promote both productions.She last starred in director Son Il-gon's film "Always" opposite actor So Ji-sub which was the opening film at the 16th Busan International Film Festival.
