Actor Lee Byung-hun has decided to appear in a historical film, a pic he had been mulling since several weeks ago.

A press release by his agency BH Entertainment on Monday said that Lee will star in movie "I am the King of Joseon" (translated title) where he will play the double role of a king and a person of low class.Taking its motif from children's tale "The Prince and the Pauper," "King," will tell of a man of low class, who had covered for King Gwanghaegun, the 15th ruler of Korea's Joseon Dynasty, actually opening his eyes to the role of king.

The pic, set to crank in early next year, will be helmed by director Chu Chang-min of "Mapado" (2005) and "Late Blossom" (2010) and written by screenwriter Hwang Jo-yeon of critically acclaimed hit pic "Oldboy" (2003).

In the meantime, Lee is currently filming the sequel to "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" in the United States.After returning home later next month, he will visit Japan for his three-city fan tour in the country which will kick off at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama on December 20.
