Ke$ha concert in Korea put off

International pop star Ke$ha, who was set to perform in Korea at the end of this month, has put off her show to a later date.

The concert's promoter Hyundai Card announced through a press release on Wednesday that the singer asked for her March 29 concert to be rescheduled following an earthquake of a magnitude of 8.9 hitting Japan late last week.Millions in the country are without power and water while the death toll has reached over 3,500 and still on the rise.

"We accepted Ke$ha's request following her side's judgement that it wouldn't be suitable for her to proceed with a tour in the concept of a party when the world is in deep mourning over Japan's earthquake," Hyundai Card explained.

The pop starlet was the first artist chosen to perform as part of the "Hyundai Card Culture Project" which introduces various realms of culture, including new and global artists, theater, musicals, dance and exhibitions to the local audience. Hyundai Card will provide full refunds to all purchasers of tickets for Ke$ha's concert.

Born Kesha Rose Sebert, Ke$ha made her breakthrough into the music industry in early 2009 after appearing on rapper Flo Rida's single "Right Round." She then released her debut single "Tik Tok" in late 2009 which was followed by her debut album "Animal" which produced various top ten singles such as “Take It Off” and “Blah Blah Blah.”
