Woong San begins jazz tour in Japan


Korean jazz vocalist Woong San began her nationwide tour in Japan on Thursday.

It began in Osaka at the Billboard Live club yesterday and will continue on into the Blue Note in Nagoya the following day and Cotton Club in Tokyo early next month. The singer is slated to perform at a total of eight concerts in Japan. The tour promotes her fifth full-length album "Close Your Eyes" which has been pre-sold in Japan.

Woong San was the first ever Korean to perform on the stages of the Blue Note and Billboard Live in 2008. In 2009 she was selected for the gold disc by Japan's jazz magazine "Swing Journal".

In late March, the jazz vocalist will hold a concert titled "Windy Spring" at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Korea to promote the domestic release of her album.She made her musical debut in 2003 with her album "Love Letters" and has released many albums, including songs for dramas and commercials.
