4minute rocks various music charts in Taiwan

Korean girl band 4minute has topped various music charts in Taiwan with their first mini-album "For Muzik", their agency Play Cube Entertainment explained on Wednesday.

According to statistics released on Taiwan's online music site KKBOX on Sunday, "Muzik" topped the site's album sales chart in the daily J-pop/K-pop category to outsell fellow K-pop groups Super Junior and Girl Generation. In addition, all seven tracks from the mini-album were ranked on the KBOX daily singles chart. Another website "ezPeer+" reported that all the tracks from "Muzik" have entered the site's top ten singles chart.

"4minute's "For Muzik" carries a big significance as it is the first album release since Cube Entertainment signed a strategic alliance with global record label Universal Music," Play Cube Entertainment was quoted as saying. "We expect this album to be popular in not only Taiwan but in other countries as well."

The girl group -- composed of Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, HyunA and Sohyun -- debuted in June 2009 wth the single "Hot Issues" and topped Korean music charts with the subsequent mini-album "For Muzik". They are scheduled to tour several Asian countries, including Taiwan, starting January 21.
