Korean idol group Wonder Girls will turn into baristas in a new television commercial, according to a report on Wednesday.
The pop group, who are back in Korea after leaving for the U.S. seven months ago, have signed with coffee brand Jardin to promote their new coffee brand “Cafe Mori”."The brand concept of Cafe Mori is ‘Stylish Coffee’,” explained an official at Jardin. “The various appeals of the Wonder Girls fit the concept, so we hired them as models.”
They will appear as baristas in the commercial, which will also feature new boy band MBLAQ member Cheon Dung who was trained by Korean superstar Rain.
The five-member girl band, who debuted in Korea in 2007, is one of the most successful pop groups in the country with three consecutive No. 1 singles, "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody".The group's U.S. debut single "Nobody" entered the Billboard Hot100 at No. 76 last week, the first time for a Korean artist to be placed on the chart in its 115-year history.
The “Cafe Mori” commercial featuring the Wonder Girls will start airing November 5.
