In particular, it is expected to serve as an opportunity to foster a greater sense of community and regional identity among residents, based on deeper understanding of their locality.
The program will run every Tuesday from June 16 to August 11, for a total of nine sessions. It will feature lectures and field explorations focusing on Anseong’s historical and cultural assets, including the Anseong Dongteo-gil trail and tourist attractions, the Anseong Market (one of the three largest markets of the Joseon Dynasty), the March 1st Movement in Anseong-eup, as well as local cultural heritage and the origins of place names.
An official from the Anseong Council for Sustainable Development stated, "Our region's history and culture are precious assets that must be passed on to future generations," adding, "We hope this meaningful program will allow residents to understand the region more deeply and develop a greater sense of affection for it."
Applications to participate can be submitted via QR code or phone inquiry. Anyone residing in Anseong City, not just residents of Anseong 1-dong, may participate.
