A Korean Air passenger plane encountered strong winds and turbulence while attempting to land at a Japanese airport. The pilot quickly made a skilled decision to execute a “go-around” (an aborted landing where the aircraft ascends again), successfully averting a crisis. Japanese social media users who captured the scene praised the pilot’s actions.

On that day, the passenger plane departed from Incheon International Airport and arrived at Narita Airport in Tokyo, Japan.
The footage was reportedly captured by the Japanese aviation-focused YouTube channel “Narisora.” In the video, the aircraft is seen shaking as it encounters strong winds right before reaching the runway. The pilot abandoned the landing and immediately performed a go-around. Even as the plane left the runway and ascended into the sky, it continued to shake for a while.
Japanese users claiming to have been on board at the time shared their experiences. One user said, “I thought everything was already over,” adding, “I felt a level of turbulence I had never experienced before and worried the plane might tip over. I didn’t feel alive until the landing was complete.”

Praise for the calm response of the Korean pilot also continued. One user commented, “We avoided a crisis thanks to the captain’s quick judgment in a split second. A go-around is the best service a pilot can provide to passengers.” Another user added, “I’ve heard that Korean airline pilots are highly competent.”
