During the meeting, Jeong and Choo announced their plan to include in the 5th National Railroad Network Construction Plan an extension of the Shinbundang Line—which currently terminates at Bongdam-eup—so that it will pass through Hyangnam and Joam and reach the Kia Motors Hwaseong Plant.
Jeong Myeong-geun emphasized, "Resolving the commuting difficulties faced by Kia Motors workers is the key to revitalizing the Hwaseong economy," adding, "We will go beyond a simple line extension and transform it into a core railway network traversing the western region."
Plans for the construction of large-scale industrial infrastructure linked to the transportation network expansion were also announced. Jeong stated, "By utilizing dredged soil from Namyang Lake, we will reclaim the area in front of Kia Motors in Namyang Bay to establish the 'Ujeong Future Advanced Industrial Complex,' covering approximately 4.95 million square meters (1.5 million pyeong)."
Jeong Myeong-geun also responded positively to the labor union's suggestion that a labor secretary position be created to protect workers' rights, given the large number of industrial complexes in the western region. He said, "We currently have a Corporate Support Policy Officer, and we will actively consider establishing a Labor Policy Secretary going forward."

Earlier, Shin Hyun-chan, head of the union branch, said, "We are experiencing production difficulties as subsidies for electric vehicles have been exhausted. There is a need to increase support for electric vehicles. We are also struggling with traffic congestion during commute hours and need to shorten commute times. Please extend the retirement age to 65 and reduce working hours from 40 to 36 per week."
Meanwhile, this marks the third joint campaign event for Jeong and Choo, following their visit to Yongjusa Temple and the announcement of transportation pledges at Dongtan Station. As the election nears its conclusion, they are ramping up their unified efforts to win over voters.
