Through this agreement, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will launch the industry's only "dedicated autonomous driving insurance," which provides up to 10 billion won per accident and a total of 30 billion won annually in coverage. Based on a "one-stop service" that covers everything from policy subscription to claims processing, the company also plans to offer tailored corporate services, such as accident analysis and IT security consulting.
To ensure the stable operation of the demonstration project, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will establish a dedicated call center and on-site dispatch system that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, the company will actively utilize its specialized organizations, including a dedicated integrated claims team, an autonomous vehicle accident analysis center, a traffic safety culture research institute, and a maintenance technology support center, to build a real-time response and data-driven proactive risk management system.
A representative from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance stated, "We will use actual driving data to design insurance rates and innovative products optimized for the era of autonomous driving," adding, "Moving forward, we will continue to serve as a reliable partner in the evolving mobility industry, fulfilling not only the fundamental role of insurance in protecting customers' daily lives but also contributing to the establishment of a social safety net."
