The Construction New Technology Certification is an official program by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport that comprehensively evaluates the novelty, advancement, and field applicability of construction technologies that are either developed for the first time in Korea or are improvements on existing technologies.

This certification was awarded in recognition of the significant increase in construction productivity for apartment bathrooms and the improvement in the risk of defects associated with conventional installation methods, which was achieved by combining Hansol Homedeco's wall finishing material "Collectwall" with DL E&C's architectural design and construction expertise.

Collectwall is a wall finishing material that uses an LPM surface layer with high abrasion resistance applied to a mineral-based panel. It is water-resistant, making it suitable for use in bathrooms, and it replicates the texture of natural stone, allowing it to be used as an alternative to expensive materials like marble.

Traditional wet construction for bathroom walls involves stacking bricks, plastering with cement, and then attaching tiles on top. This method requires separate waterproofing, and the curing process prolongs the construction period, which is a significant drawback.

In contrast, dry construction using Collectwall involves attaching Collectwall panels to lightweight walls that can be installed quickly, eliminating the need for a curing process. This reduces the bathroom construction period to about half that of the conventional method and improves construction productivity by approximately three times. The joints between materials are processed in a "reverse slope clip" form to completely block moisture penetration, and the use of large-sized panels minimizes grout lines, thereby reducing the possibility of grout failure and lowering the burden of maintenance and management.

Collectwall has been adopted as a standard manual at all DL E&C sites and has already been supplied to 33,000 households. An additional 45,000 households are scheduled to receive supplies as well.

A representative from Hansol Homedeco stated, "To develop this new technology, we conducted numerous experiments and on-site tests with DL E&C for verification," adding, "We hope that this innovation will provide a practical solution for customers facing challenges such as defects, a shortage of skilled workers, and rising construction costs."
