The group Baby Monster is on the verge of achieving million-seller status with their third mini-album, "Choom (CHOOM)."
According to YG Entertainment on May 13, their own tally shows that Baby Monster's third mini-album has recorded sales of approximately 750,000 copies. This figure was reached just one week after the album's release. YG Entertainment stated, "There was strong demand in major global markets such as North America, Japan, and China."
The previously released second mini-album, "We Go Up (WE GO UP)," sold 552,837 copies in its first week. The latest album surpassed the previous record of 650,000 cumulative monthly sales in just eight days after release.
Baby Monster topped the iTunes album charts in 19 regions, reaching number one on the worldwide chart. The music video for the title track "Choom" became the "Most Viewed Video in 24 Hours" on YouTube immediately after its release.
YG Entertainment announced that they produced three music videos for this album alone and previewed the release of a new single in June. Starting in Seoul next month, Baby Monster will embark on their second world tour, covering five continents.
The tour will include 26 performances in 18 cities worldwide, including six Japanese cities: Kobe, Fukuoka, Yokohama, Chiba, Nagoya, and Osaka. In Asia, the group will also visit Manila, Macau, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
