A 43.4 Billion Won Investment: Two Baseball Fields and 608 Seats

"Construction to Begin in the Second Half of the Year,
Boosting Sports Tourism and Economic Vitality"

Ulju County in Ulsan is accelerating the progress of the 'Ulju Baseball Stadium Construction Project,' which is being promoted in the Seosaeng-myeon area, by initiating the construction bidding process.

On May 13, Ulju County announced plans to invest a total of 43.4 billion won to build the Ulju Baseball Stadium on a site of 60,083 square meters in the Seosaeng-ri area of Seosaeng-myeon.

The stadium will feature two standard baseball fields, as well as a pitching and batting practice area, spectator seating for 608 people, and various auxiliary facilities, including dugouts, locker rooms, umpire rooms, and a broadcasting room.

Ulju County has sequentially carried out major administrative procedures, starting with a feasibility study in 2023, followed by a local financial investment review, feasibility analysis, and revision of the urban management plan. Currently, the county is finalizing detailed designs for civil engineering, landscaping, and architecture, and is also proceeding with land compensation through a consignment method with Korea Real Estate Board.

The county plans to put the construction out to bid within this month, proceed with contracts and compensation procedures, and begin construction in the second half of this year, aiming for completion next year.

Ulju County explained that upon completion, the project is expected to not only improve the environment for local baseball enthusiasts' sports activities, but also attract nationwide baseball tournaments, boost sports tourism, and have various positive impacts on the local economy.

An official from Ulju County stated, "The Ulju Baseball Stadium is a key sports infrastructure designed to meet the demand for recreational sports among residents. With the initiation of the construction bidding, the project has now entered the full-scale construction phase, and we will do our utmost to ensure the subsequent procedures are carried out smoothly so that the expansion of sports facilities can be felt by all residents."
