"Experience Buncheong Ware with All Five Senses in Goheung"... 'Buncheong Culture Day' Emotional Festival on May 16

Buncheong Experience Playground, Pottery Auction, and More to Be Held

Goheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kong Youngmin), announced that the '2026 Buncheong Culture Day' event will be held on May 16 at the Goheung Museum Campground.

Organized by the Buncheong Culture Museum, this year's event is themed 'Earth and Wind, A Day for Family,' and offers a variety of programs that allow participants to experience Buncheong ware with all five senses and relax in nature.

Main programs include the 'Buncheong Experience Playground' where visitors can enjoy pottery wheel activities and pottery painting, 'Family Camping' for leisurely enjoyment in nature, a 'Bian Lian and Balloon Show' to captivate children, as well as events such as a Buncheong pottery auction and a family quiz show, which will further energize the venue.

In particular, this year’s event is distinct in that it moves away from the traditional artifact viewing format and is instead planned as a 'residential-type cultural event' utilizing the museum campground. Families can stay on site, deeply experience the charm of Buncheong ware, and discover new aspects of the museum.

The county is taking thorough measures to ensure a safe and pleasant event, including deploying safety personnel and strengthening on-site inspections in anticipation of large crowds.

An official from the county’s Buncheong Culture Museum stated, "This event has been prepared so that people of all ages can joyfully experience Buncheong ware, a precious cultural asset unique to Goheung," adding, "We hope you will create unforgettable memories with your family in the lush nature of May."
