Jo Inho, Democratic Party candidate for Jeonnam Provincial Council and former Chairman of Wando County Council, who has solved major regional issues on-site, has unveiled his campaign slogan, "A Future for Wando: Resilient Fisheries and Livable Islands," along with 10 key customized local pledges.
Based on his years of legislative experience, Jo's actions are interpreted as a determined move to enter the provincial council and overcome the crises facing Wando.

The strategies are: ▲Fisheries resilient to climate change ▲Securing sufficient budget for Wando ▲Islands that attract people back.
The most crucial pledge is the "Structural Improvement of the Fisheries Industry" to cope with the climate crisis. As his top pledge, Jo plans to strengthen the "Jeonnam-Style High Temperature Response System" by advancing the marine observation network in Jeonnam, establishing an AI-based high temperature prediction system, and expanding provincial government support for high temperature response equipment.
In addition, to ensure the actual business stability of fishermen, Jo aims to "realign fisheries insurance coverage" by including high temperature and red tide damage as standard coverage. He also plans to bolster the integrated distribution strategy for Jeonnam to enable government purchasing and stockpiling policies in the event of a sharp drop in abalone prices. Notably, for Wando's core industry, seaweed, he intends to position it at the core of the Jeonnam Blue Carbon (marine carbon sink) strategy, nurturing it as a future growth engine.
The plan also includes detailed measures to improve the living environment and quality of life for island residents. Jo has promised to enhance the "Settlement Package," which features mentor matching and interest subsidies for start-up funds, to support the stable settlement of young people and next-generation fishermen.
Additionally, he has finalized pledges such as ▲expanding nighttime passenger ferry services between islands and providing fare subsidies ▲increasing public healthcare support and mobile medical services for island regions ▲implementing customized energy policies such as microgrids (independent power networks) ▲and establishing a stay-type tourism model through the advancement of the marine healing industry.
Jo stressed, "I will ensure the realization of these policies by increasing the provincial budget, attracting national funding through public contest projects, and making joint proposals to the central government," and added, "I will become a reliable Democratic Party provincial council member who secures more budget from Jeonnam Province for Wando, thereby protecting our islands and revitalizing our fisheries."
