He expressed his understanding of the difficulties seniors experience in daily life—such as in healthcare, caregiving, and living support—and emphasized the need to establish a comprehensive, senior-centered welfare system.
Park identified the main focus of his welfare pledges as creating a “Smart Senior Care City” tailored to the needs of the elderly.
The key pledges include: ▲Expanding support for smart senior centers and promoting remote medical consultations, ▲Modernizing senior centers and increasing elevator installations, ▲Expanding support for free meal programs at senior centers, ▲Enhancing cognitive, health, and hobby program support at senior centers, ▲Identifying job opportunities for seniors and expanding support for their activities, ▲Expanding elderly daily living support services (such as transportation, laundry, and housekeeping), ▲Expanding home-visit nursing and care services, ▲Expanding the operation of smart care systems (AI-based well-being checks) for single-person elderly households, ▲Expanding the eligibility and financial support for influenza, pneumococcal, and shingles vaccinations, and ▲Expanding emergency safety and reassurance services for the elderly.
In particular, Park pledged to focus on establishing a smart care system to address the challenges of a super-aged society. He explained that by expanding AI-based care systems and smart senior centers, he would strengthen the safety net for seniors living alone and improve access to medical services through the promotion of remote medical consultations.
Additionally, Park stated his commitment to going beyond basic welfare by supporting seniors’ participation in society and encouraging healthy leisure activities. He said, "Jobs for seniors are not just about providing additional income—they are an important policy for vitality and social connection," and added, "By diversifying senior center programs and supporting tailored activities, we will help ensure a healthy and active old age."
He went on to say, "Dongducheon will continue to be a strong support for our seniors," adding, "We will continue to implement policies that citizens can truly feel, based on voices from the field."
Meanwhile, Park continues to visit neighborhoods throughout Dongducheon to listen directly to residents and is dedicated to developing practical, everyday-focused policies.
