Solidarity Blocks Oh Se-hoon's Vehicle... Oh Says "Illegal Acts Absolutely Unacceptable"

To Oh: "Receive the policy proposal in person"

Oh: "Turning illegal sit-ins into jobs is unacceptable"

The National Solidarity Against Disability Discrimination (NSADD) blocked the vehicle of Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party's candidate for Seoul mayor, on the 12th, demanding the restoration of "rights-centered public jobs." Oh warned that this constituted "a clear and explicit obstruction of electioneering."

After announcing his pledge for "walking with the underprivileged" at Seoul Welfare Town in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Oh met with reporters and said, "NSADD has started what they call a 'shadow protest.' They are packaging various protests, sit-ins, and campaigns as (disabled) employment, but where else in the world do you see a country paying allowances to disabled people who participate in on-site protests while fighting to secure their own budget?"

He further stated, "As you may recall, sit-ins that stop the subway and similar actions are clear violations of the law. It is absolutely unacceptable to argue that having disabled people participate in illegal acts should be recognized as employment and that they should receive allowances for it."

In response, NSADD blocked Oh's vehicle as he was leaving the event and demanded, "If you want to talk about walking with the underprivileged, come out yourself and receive our policy proposal." Even before the event began, they held a protest on the first floor of Seoul Welfare Town, holding signs reading "Restore Rights-Centered Public Jobs" and "Stop Depriving the Rights of the Disabled!"
