A university celebrating its 80th anniversary is heating up with an unusual 'relay' event.
Executive professors at Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) are busy passing the baton for a fundraising relay in celebration of the university's 80th anniversary, contributing to the university development fund.
On May 12, Kim Cheolsoo, Dean of Student Affairs; Seo Seongyong, Dean of Planning; Kim Chanjung, Dean of Research Support; and Park Unik, Dean of External Cooperation, delivered a total of 33 million won to the president in the university headquarters reception room as a development fund donation.
They stated, "Since we have each taken on key roles for the development of the university, we wanted to express our support for the university's leap forward on its 80th anniversary."
With this donation, they became the 30th to 33rd participants in the support donation relay. Previously, Hwang Ikgu, professor of Japanese Studies, contributed 12 million won as the 29th participant. The support donation relay for the university's development continues without interruption.
On May 8, the university presented its vision of "a strong university opening the future with courage, innovation, and challenge" at the 80th anniversary and future vision declaration ceremony.
Pukyong National University plans to use the development fund raised through the donation relay for nurturing outstanding talent, advancing as a research-focused university, promoting the AX Innovation University, and establishing a global innovation university.
