Sancheong-gun announced on May 12 that the small cinema in Sancheong-gun will hold a special discount event, offering admission tickets at 1,000 won starting May 13.
This event has been organized after being selected for the '2026 National Film Viewing Promotion Support Project' led by the Korean Film Council. The initiative aims to revitalize the sluggish cinema market and promote cultural and leisure activities among local residents.
Through this project, the small cinema in Sancheong-gun will receive a total budget of 26 million won, providing discounted admission to approximately 4,300 visitors.
Accordingly, the standard adult admission fee, previously 7,000 won, will be reduced to 1,000 won, and 3D movies will be available for 3,000 won. Discounted categories such as youth tickets and tickets on Culture Day will also be offered at 1,000 won.
Tickets can be purchased both onsite and online. For online reservations, up to two tickets can be purchased per ID, while there is no limit on the number of tickets for onsite purchases. The discount also applies to group bookings.
The event will run from May 13 to October 31, 2026, but may end earlier if the allocated budget is exhausted.
Due to the implementation of this project, the existing local cinema admission support project for mutual growth will be temporarily suspended; however, the 'Gyeongnam Senior Citizen Support Project' for the convenience of elderly viewers will continue to operate.
An official from the county stated, "We hope this special discount will expand cultural opportunities for our residents and help revitalize the local cinema. We encourage many residents to enjoy the latest movies and have a happy time without financial burden."
