On the 11th, KCC’s Jeonju Plant No. 2 invited around 50 safety management personnel from process safety management workplaces in the Jeonbuk region to present best practices under the theme of "Operating a Safety and Health Management System Based on Risk Assessment." The presentations focused on field-oriented risk assessment methods, case studies on strengthening implementation, and activities for identifying and improving risk factors—practical safety management systems that can be directly applied to actual workplaces.
After the presentations, participants visited key safety management sites, such as the paint factory, resin factory, workshop, substation, and laboratory. The tour examined the status of visual management system implementation, cases of additional safety devices beyond legal requirements, improvements to equipment structures, and activities focused on eliminating hazards, while reviewing the possibility of applying these measures to their own workplaces.
Previously, on April 16, KCC, together with the Occupational Accident Prevention Supervision Division of the Jeonju branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, invited representatives from workplaces with fewer than 50 employees in the Jeonbuk region to a similar safety management case presentation and on-site tour. KCC’s Jeonju Plant No. 2 continues to promote public-private cooperative activities for industrial accident prevention to help local workplaces establish their own sustainable safety and health management systems.
KCC’s Jeonju Plant No. 2 has been recognized for its safety and environmental management capabilities, including being designated a Green Company by the Ministry of Environment and receiving the highest "P" grade in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Process Safety Management (PSM) evaluation.
KCC plans to faithfully fulfill its role as a local hub by continuously sharing best practices in safety management and organizing site visits, thereby helping to foster a culture of safety throughout the region.
A KCC representative stated, "Safety is the most fundamental value for the sustainable operation of all workplaces," adding, "KCC’s Jeonju Plant No. 2 will continue to advance its field-oriented safety and health management system and contribute to the spread of a safety culture in collaboration with the local community and related organizations."
