At the Seoul nominee convention the previous day, Chairperson Jeong stated, "Overcoming the December 3 Martial Law Uprising and restoring normalcy to what was broken and distorted is the spirit of our times."

Jang Donghyeok, leader of the People Power Party, is expanding his campaign efforts. Over the weekend, he visited Okcheon in Chungbuk, Cheonan in Chungnam, Busan, and Daegu, and on the previous day, Ulsan. On this day, he will also attend the campaign launch ceremonies for the party chapters in Chungnam and Gyeongbuk. With conservative forces beginning to rally, Jang's scope of activities is expanding as well. He is also expected to take on a key role in the soon-to-be-formed central election campaign committee.
