Gwanak-gu, Seoul, is ramping up support to help promising venture and startup companies from Gwanak S Valley expand into the global market by backing their participation in 'CES 2027'.
CES, held every January in Las Vegas, USA, is the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition and provides a comprehensive overview of global technology trends. The district is running a 'Global Accelerating Program' to help Gwanak S Valley companies demonstrate their technological competitiveness on the international stage and achieve tangible results in exports and investment attraction.

Eligible applicants are venture and startup companies founded within the past seven years that possess outstanding technological capabilities in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), mobility, and biotechnology.
The key theme of this year's support program is 'qualitative leap.' Starting this year, the district has linked participation in 'Eureka Park', a dedicated global startup zone, and application for the 'CES Innovation Awards' as part of the eligibility criteria. In particular, to assist companies with the challenging process of competing for CES Innovation Awards, the district will provide intensive support, including professional consulting, application fee assistance, and group training, significantly increasing their chances of winning.
The five companies ultimately selected will receive not only exhibition booth operation rights but also vouchers worth up to 5 million won per company, which can be used for local accommodation, transportation, interpretation, and logistics costs. In addition, they will be given the opportunity to participate in the 'Global Pitching Day' in front of overseas investors, providing close support to help them move beyond simple exhibition and secure actual contracts.
The district will also strengthen its post-exhibition management system. Companies that win Innovation Awards will be granted membership in an exclusive networking community, and Gwanak-gu will operate its own comprehensive follow-up support programs—including investment attraction, market development, and promotional content creation—to help ensure their continued growth.
Gwanak S Valley resident companies have been recognized globally for their technological prowess, winning the CES Best of Innovation Award in 2022, three Innovation Awards from two companies in 2024, five Innovation Awards from four companies in 2025, and one Innovation Award from one company in 2026.
A district official stated, "CES is the ultimate proving ground to assess how competitive Gwanak S Valley's innovative technologies are in the global market," adding, "We will focus all of our administrative and financial resources to ensure that our promising startups are recognized for their technological excellence and innovation on the Las Vegas stage and can take a leap forward to become global unicorn companies."
