Choi Hyejin has climbed to 15th in the world rankings.
On May 11 (local time), she earned 3.35 points in the latest Women's Golf Weekly World Rankings, moving up two spots from 17th place last week. She accumulated ranking points by finishing in a tie for third at the LPGA Tour's Mizuho Americas Open (total prize money: 3.25 million dollars) held at Mountain Ridge Country Club (par 72) in West Caldwell, New Jersey, the previous day. This marks her best performance of the year and her third top-10 finish.
Choi Hyejin, who has recorded a total of nine wins (excluding amateur victories) on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, including one major, joined the LPGA Tour in 2022 but has yet to secure a win. Her best individual results so far are runner-up finishes at the Maybank Championship and the Meijer LPGA Classic last year, and at the 2022 CP Women's Open.
Nelly Korda (USA), Mizuho Americas Open champion Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), and Kim Hyojoo, winner of the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship on the KLPGA Tour, maintained their positions in the top three. Korda's average ranking points are 11.93, Thitikul has 10.99, and Kim Hyojoo has 7.32.
Yin Ruoning (China) is ranked fourth, Hannah Green is fifth, Lee Minjee (both from Australia) is eighth, and Lydia Ko (New Zealand) is in ninth place. Among Korean players, Kim Seiyoung is 11th, Yoo Haeran is 12th, Lim Jinhui is 32nd, Kim Arim is 34th, Hwang Yoomin is 35th, Kim Minsol is 38th, Yoon Yina is 41st, Lee Sumi is 42nd, Yoo Hyunjo is 44th, Ko Jin-young is 51st, Lee Yewon is 53rd, and Park Hyunkyung, runner-up at the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship, is in 74th place.
