[Weather] Rain Expected Across Most Regions... "Take an Umbrella for Your Commute"

On Tuesday, May 12, most regions across the country are expected to experience rain.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, during the afternoon, there will be areas in the Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, and western Gyeongsangnam-do where very heavy rainfall of around 30 mm per hour is expected. The rain will begin in Jeollanam-do and Jeju Island before dawn, then expand to Gyeongsangnam-do from the morning. Most areas will see the rain stop by the afternoon, but in Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeju Island, it is expected to continue into the evening. Regions experiencing rain may also see gusty winds, thunder and lightning, and, in some places, hail.

The expected precipitation amounts are as follows: 10 to 40 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, 5 to 30 mm in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, 10 to 50 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, Chungcheongnam-do, and Chungcheongbuk-do, 20 to 70 mm in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, and Jeollabuk-do, 10 to 50 mm in Gyeongsangnam-do, 5 to 40 mm in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do, 5 to 20 mm in Busan and Ulsan, and 10 to 50 mm in Jeju Island. The east coast of Gangwon and the Gyeongsangbuk-do region are forecast to remain very dry until the rain begins.

Morning low temperatures are expected to range from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, while afternoon high temperatures will range from 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.

By region, the forecast for morning low temperatures is as follows: Seoul 14°C, Incheon 15°C, Suwon 14°C, Chuncheon 14°C, Gangneung 16°C, Cheongju 15°C, Daejeon 14°C, Gwangju 15°C, Daegu 14°C, Busan 15°C, and Jeju Island 16°C.

The afternoon high temperatures are expected to be: Seoul 22°C, Incheon 21°C, Suwon 22°C, Chuncheon 22°C, Gangneung 22°C, Cheongju 23°C, Daejeon 22°C, Gwangju 21°C, Daegu 22°C, Busan 20°C, and Jeju Island 21°C.

Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at a 'good' level in all regions.
