China Successfully Launches Cargo Spacecraft, Docking with Space Station Carrying 6.2 Tons of Supplies

The 39th Launch Mission in China's Crewed Space Program

China has reportedly succeeded in launching its cargo spacecraft Tianzhou 10.

According to the state-run Xinhua News Agency, at 8:14 a.m. local time on May 11, Tianzhou 10 was launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province, southern China, aboard the Long March 7 Yao-11 carrier rocket.

Approximately 10 minutes after launch, Tianzhou 10 separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit. It subsequently docked with the Chinese-built space station Tiangong at around 1:11 p.m. the same day.

Tianzhou 10 carried 6.2 tons of cargo, including new spacesuits, consumables and propellant for astronauts’ stay, as well as various experimental equipment for applied research.

This launch marks the fifth cargo supply mission since China's crewed space program entered the application and development phase for its space station. It is also the 39th launch mission in the overall history of China’s crewed space program.
