The Gimpo Cultural Foundation announced on the 11th that it will sequentially hold the first half of the year performance exhibitions of selected artists and groups in the visual arts field of the '2026 Gimpo Arts Activity Support Project' until June.

This exhibition encompasses a variety of genres, including crafts, painting, ceramics, installation, photography, and sculpture. It will be held in a relay format at various local cultural spaces such as the Gimpo Peace Culture Center, Boreumsan Museum of Art, Janggi Library Exhibition Hall, Budnamu Gallery, and Bukbyeon Gallery.


In the crafts field, artist Kim Jiyong will present 'The Gaze of Weaving' at the Gimpo Peace Culture Center. In painting, artist Kim Wagoon will hold a solo exhibition at Budnamu Gallery. In ceramics, artist Lee Kyuhyo will introduce works combining tradition and modernity at the Gimpo Peace Culture Center.


The exhibitions will continue in June. In installation, artist Yoon Junghye will present 'Vinyl Dressed in Nature' at the Boreumsan Museum of Art, and in photography, artist Park Younggyun will showcase 'Overground' at the Gimpo Peace Culture Center. In sculpture, artist Choi Nakjoon will hold 'Threshold' at Bukbyeon Gallery.


There will also be group exhibitions. The ceramics group Gongbang Dowon-Yo will hold 'The Range of Crafts' at the Janggi Library Exhibition Hall, and the painting group Susaranghoe will present 'Drawing the Happiness of Everyday Life' at Budnamu Gallery.


A representative from the Gimpo Cultural Foundation said, "This performance exhibition is an opportunity to share the creative achievements of local artists and groups with citizens," adding, "It will be a chance to witness both the diversity and contemporaneity of Gimpo's art."



The 'Gimpo Arts Activity Support Project' is an initiative to establish a stable creative environment for local artists and to promote culture and the arts. This year, a total of 16 projects in the visual arts field have been selected and are receiving support.
