"Are You Afraid of Kiosks?" Gyeonggi Province Accepting Ongoing Applications for 'Digital Literacy Outreach Program' Participants

AI and Digital Literacy Outreach Program
for Seniors and Residents in Urban and Rural Areas

The Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Promotion Agency announced on May 11 that it will operate the "AI and Digital Literacy Outreach Program (Digital Literacy On-the-Go Station)" from May to November, targeting seniors, adults with low educational attainment, and residents of rural and fishing communities in the province.

Participants will be able to learn how to use digital devices they frequently encounter, such as kiosks, smartphones, tablet PCs, and AI speakers, focusing on practical content required in daily life, including unmanned ordering, mobile financial services, and public service apps.

Institutions and organizations wishing to participate in the program can apply through the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Promotion Agency's official website. There are three types of applications: ▲Support for digital literacy instructor fees ▲On-site training at the desired location ▲Establishment and operation of local hubs in the province (including digital experience zones and advanced training centers).

The agency will continuously accept applications for participating institutions and organizations until November, and plans to provide support for instructor fees or training after reviewing the eligibility requirements.

Park Myeong-hye, Acting President of the Gyeonggi Province Lifelong Learning Promotion Agency, stated, "Just as the friendly name 'Digital Literacy On-the-Go Station' suggests, we aim to lower the barriers to education by offering learning opportunities close to the residents. Moving forward, we will expand practical educational support so that anyone struggling with changes in the digital environment can easily learn and apply these skills."
